LAKE KOLSAI AND KAINDy

Kaindy
The lake is only 400 meters long. It was formed as a result of a massive earthquake in 1910. A huge landslide occurred, which blocked the gorge and a natural dam appeared. Gradually, water rose and flooded this natural reservoir.
What you see above the water is those 100+ years spruces. Below, however, is a completely different picture. This place, in itself, is located at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level, and the water here is so cold that it, in fact, retained branches and needles, but only under water.
Water itself regularly changes color and is often very beautiful blue. This strange color is caused by lime and other minerals that were in the water a hundred years ago. But as soon as you get closer to the lake, the water becomes crystal clear, sometimes you can even see trout, which was launched into the lake in 1930.
Kolsai
The lakes of Kazakhstan are popular with tourists. Located at an altitude of about 2,000 meters above sea level, the Kolsai lakes beckon with beauty and clean waters. This is a whole system comprising three lakes.
The “Third” lake Kolsay is located below the plain; it is at an altitude of 1,800 m above sea level. The second - the largest, called “Mynzhigly” - at an altitude of 2250 m above sea level, and the lake “Upper Kolsai” - even higher by 600 m.
